She has been chasing newborn kittens and small-sized buddies all evening while we are on a farm enjoying a corn roast and visit with friends. A warm wind whips across the fields and out of the corner of my eye I spot it lifting her needing-a-brush summer hair, so I grab my camera. The wind takes me to her, but also sends her running away, so I call her name and she turns, giving me a full second of connection in the low light of evening. I pray I grab focus and I do, so that is it. The camera goes away because this shot is all I need to feel the warm wind of that summer night when the kids ran and we laughed with good friends.
